Kecia Gaither, MD, MPH, FACOG, board-certified in both OB/GYN and Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Director of Perinatal Services at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln frequently works with undeserved women of color from the African and LatinX diaspora. Compliance with treatment plans is her main concern. This is due to the lack of transportation, childcare concerns, housing, or work issues. Factors such as these can easily label a patient as non-compliant. Gaither strives to ensure all her patients have access to care. She has a social worker on staff to work with her patients to assess what’s needed to make it to their prenatal appointments.
